What are these?
Flat FRP Rods are specially designed to serve as dielectric armour in OFC intended for challenging environments. They are commonly utilised in various cable types, including Rodent Resistant, Direct Burial, and Bullet Resistant aerial cables. These rods provide peripheral reinforcement in fibre optic applications and can be embedded in the cable's jacket longitudinally or helically stranded over the core depending on the specific design and requirements of the cable. Both application methods have their advantages and may be used based on the cable manufacturer's preference and the desired performance characteristics. Flat FRP contributes to reduced diameter, lower weight and offers exceptional tensile strength and modulus performance while maintaining flexibility.
